Home Remodel in Richmond

Richmond Home Remodel

Located on the hills of Point Richmond with views overlooking San Francisco Bay, this custom home—originally built in 1980—was updated to better support modern living while respecting its setting. The remodel included the kitchen, primary bathroom, guest bath, powder room, and both living and family rooms. Care was taken to coordinate finishes and sequencing across multiple spaces to maintain consistency throughout the home. Existing white floors were refinished, restoring clarity and continuity across the interior. Each renovated area was approached with attention to proportion, material performance, and daily usability. The result is a refreshed interior that feels cohesive and composed, supporting both everyday routines and the home’s elevated location without unnecessary complexity.

I hired KC Custom Builders for what originally began as a complete remodel of my master bathroom. Nathan Casey and his crew were a total dream to work with. The work crew always arrived on time, was very professional and always left the worksite clean. The attention to detail and overall workmanship was amazing. Nathan was very good about being accessible and was very quick to respond if I ever needed to reach him. If anything came up which was unexpected, Nathan was great about talking through the issue and would explain all available options. I really appreciated how Nathan always appeared to have such a calm demeanor which was great for the times I was feeling stressed. He always made me feel that everything would work out…which it always did. I really felt that Nathan and his crew listened to me and understood what I wanted for my remodel. Whenever they made suggestions, those suggestions were usually right on point. There were times when I wanted to learn a little bit about how some of the work was done and the workers were always willing to explain how and why they did things; and as a result, I really learned a lot about remodeling a home. The end result of my master bath remodel was that I got an awesome spectacular master bath retreat. The remodel was so good that over the course of two more years, I ended up remodeling several other rooms in my home and hired KC Custom Builders two more times. To this day, I will walk through one of the remodeled areas and think to myself how much I love it. As with any remodel project, budget is very important. Nathan was excellent about pricing out each of our projects and always stayed on budget. Nathan uses a cloud-based project management system to assist with managing his projects. I really loved this online feature because it allowed me to be kept in the loop regarding the progress of my project regardless of where I was, and it was great knowing that the information was always just a click away. To summarize, it is always fantastic when you can finish a remodel project (in my case, three projects) and still really love your contractor and his crew. If there was any more work left to be done on my home, I would hire KC Custom Builders again in a minute, but for now, I will continue to highly recommend them to my friends.
